Constructive Discussion with your Thesis Supervisor (language: English)
Objectives
PhD projects are caught between conflicting demands: on the one hand, doctoral candidates are integrated in research projects and have to fulfil various obligations in their research group. On the other, they want to and are expected to conduct independent and innovative research. Adding to this are potentially different expectations and demands from the thesis supervisors. Therefore, every supervision meeting requires striking a good balance between different expectations as well as the need to define constructive solutions even in difficult phases of the PhD project.
